Description
Optical Lens from X-Z LAB focuses or diverges light. The catalog spans spherical, aspheric, and cylindrical forms. A lens shapes the whole optical system.
Optical Lens types
Types include cylindrical lenses, plano concave and convex lenses, double concave and convex lenses, spherical lenses, aspheric lenses, bi-concave and convex spherical lenses, and meniscus spherical lenses. Customized lenses are available as well. Aspheric lenses correct spherical aberration in a single element. Cylindrical lenses focus light into lines for laser line generators.
Optical Lens materials
Materials run from BK7 and UV fused silica to CaF2, MgF2, sapphire, germanium, silicon, and ZnSe. Coverage extends from UV through visible to IR. The material choice follows the wavelength: glass for visible, crystals and semiconductors for IR. Germanium and silicon serve thermal imaging in the IR.
Coatings for every band
Many lenses are offered with coating options for the UV, visible, or IR spectrums. Reflection losses stay low in the working band. The right coating protects the surface in harsh environments. Uncoated lenses suit prototyping where Fresnel loss is acceptable. Tell us the laser line for V-coat optimization.
Typical applications
Microscopy and imaging lead the list. Laser processing and life sciences follow. For beam steering components, see our Optical Prisms.
