Description
LiIO3 Non-Linear Crystal is a uniaxial non-linear crystal with high non-linear optical coefficients and a wide transparency range. It frequency-doubles low- and medium-power Sapphire(Ti) lasers and other lasers. In some cases it doubles and triples YAG(Nd) lasers. The material is lithium iodate.
LiIO3 Non-Linear Crystal advantages
Large nonlinear coefficients. Broad angular and temperature bandwidth. Low dielectric constants and low ionic conductivities. Lower absorption in the 3-4 um range than KTP. High resistance to high-intensity laser radiation. The 3-4 um edge matters for mid-IR systems. Low ionic conductivity means stable long-term operation. Broad bandwidth tolerates pump wavelength drift.
LiIO3 Non-Linear Crystal applications
SHG to FHG of fundamental laser emission from 0.69 to 2.0 um. OPO of tuned radiation from 0.8 to 4.0 um. Frequency multiplication and mixing across the 0.28 to 5.5 um transparency range. Measurement of ultra-short laser pulse parameters, including single pulses, via auto-correlators. Auto-correlators rely on it for pulse-width measurement. Visualization of IR radiation to obtain object images by non-linear optical methods. IR visualization turns invisible beams into images. The 0.28-5.5 um range spans UV to mid-IR in one crystal. For a higher-power SHG alternative, see our KTP Non-Linear Crystal.
