Sapphire(Ti) | Laser Crystal is the most widely used laser crystal for tunable and ultrashort pulsed lasers. It combines excellent thermal, physical and optical properties of large gain and emission bandwidths, high damage thresholds, and saturation powers. The absorption band of Sapphire(Ti), centered at 490 nm, makes it suitable as the pump source for a variety of argon-ion lasers, frequency-doubled YAG(Nd) and YLF, and copper vapor lasers. Due to its 3.2 μs fluorescence lifetime, Sapphire(Ti) crystals can be effectively pumped by short pulse flash lamps in powerful laser systems.
